Montalbert
Montalbert is a charming little village in traditional Savoyard style. The village is one of the ten stations of the big ski resort that goes by the name La Plagne (Paradiski, French Alps). The village is located at a 1350 m elevation, which makes the village very accessible. Within the village, there is a small supermarket, multiple bakeries, deli’s and four great stores for outdoors equipment for skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities. Montalbert also provides plenty of characteristic restaurants and cafés.

Montalbert is connected to the rest of the ski area (La Plagne - Les Arcs - Paradiski) by a gondola, which takes you from 1350 m to 1979 m in just a few minutes. A restaurant with large terrace and panoramic view is located at the top of the gondola. Snow cannons ensure that the valley run to Montalbert is open almost the entire season. In good snow conditions, the chalet offers ski-in access.
The gondola, as well as the nearby shops, restaurants and cafés, can be found within walking distance from the chalet. Hiking trails surrounded by trees and parts of the 18 km long cross-country skiing trail are just as close. Montalbert has its own ski school, which is part of the ESF: it is a child-friendly school with multiple English speaking teachers. Larger supermarkets can be found in bigger villages in the valley, such as in Aime (10 km) and Bourg-Saint-Maurice (25 km). Restaurant ‘Le Forperet’ is highly recommended: it is situated right next to the ski slope and is also accessible by car and foot. There is a free shuttle available between the village and the restaurant in the evenings.
La Plagne
La Plagne is a large, sophisticated ski area that provides opportunities for everyone. The area has a big range in altitude; the lowest point lies at an elevation of just 1250 m, while the glacier is located at a massive 3080 m. This big range makes for a very diverse skiing area that can suit everyone’s wishes and needs. La Plagne contains peaceful green slopes through the forests, wide blue slopes, but also provides plenty of exciting and challenging red and black slopes.
